Have you dreamed of keeping bees but you’re not sure how to get started? We've got you covered with our Intro to Beekeeping Workshop featuring special guest instructor Devon Greer this Thursday at Buzz Mill Coffee! This course covers essential skills for beginner beekeepers, from understanding bee biology and behavior to hive setup and management throughout the seasons.
We just dropped tickets for a May 15 Pickling & Canning Workshop! This hands-on fermentation workshop introduces students to the science and art of preserving food through natural bacterial cultures.
We close out the month with a special Sunday morning Stone Tools Workshop at our cool new spot out back at Squatch Frontier Fitness on May 25. Take a journey into the past as we explore the history of ancient humans and how they lived with stones as tools for survival!
Beekeeping Workshop
Students will learn about the three bee castes, their roles within the colony, and how to properly inspect hives while identifying common diseases and pests. The class explores sustainable beekeeping practices that support pollinator populations, with participants taking home handcrafted beeswax foundation candles and solitary bee houses to support native pollinators in their own gardens. By the end of the course, students will have the knowledge and confidence to start their beekeeping journey or enhance their existing pollinator-friendly practices.
