Hi Campers! We’re hosting a special Sunday morning Stone Tools Workshop at our cool new spot out back at Squatch Frontier Fitness this Sunday at 9am. Take a journey into the past as we explore the history of ancient humans and how they lived with stones as tools for survival! You won’t want to miss this!
We love giving back to our NeighborWoods! Something else we love is Town Lake! We’re hosting a big shore clean on Saturday, June 7, 8:30am. Meet us at Buzz Mill for a coffee on us and then we’ll head down to attack the trash from the shore and from the water with a dozen canoes at our disposal! First-come first-serve on the canoes so show up early!
Stone Tools Workshop
During this class we will explore the concepts of making stone tools known as flintknapping as well as practice making a stone arrowhead with all natural materials. Students can expect to walk away with a foundation in basic stone tool manufacturing and some simple knapped blades and points.
Free drink token and Lumber Society Stone Tools badge with each paid admission! Bring your own lunch, a knife, and pen and pad to take notes. Long pants, long-sleeve shirt, and closed-toe shoes recommended. Arrive early! Questions: email mark@buzzmillcoffee.com.

Buzz Mill Shore Corps Town Lake Clean
The Buzz Mill Shore Corps along with Squatch Frontier Fitness, the Texas River School, and the Lumber Society are hosting a big Town Lake Shore Clean on Saturday, June 7, from 8:30 to 11:30am! We’ll be attacking the trash from the shore and from the water with a dozen canoes at our disposal! We’ll meet at Buzz Mill Coffee at 8:30am. Afterward we’ll head back to Buzz Mill and JNL Barbecue for a snack and a drink on us!
We’ll have 2-person canoes available for use to get on the water and grab all the trash that can’t be reached from the shore. This is the work that most needs to be done, and it can be fun doing it. Our canoe spots will be filled first-come first-serve, so show up early!
We will provide tools and gloves (bring your own if you'd like) but bring a water bottle and wear work-appropriate clothing: long pants, long-sleeved shirt, closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, bug spray. Questions: email mark@buzzmillcoffee.com. Thanks!
Date: Sat., June 7, 8:30-11:30am (don’t be late)
Location: Buzz Mill Coffee, 1505 Town Creek Drive

Bears & Outdoor Hazards Workshop
Join us as we explore wilderness hazards and dangers that you could face when traveling in the backcountry. And Bears! The outdoors can be a dangerous place at any time of year, but more often it's our own perception of these potential threats that make them more dangerous than they really are. Through understanding comes knowing and through knowing comes confidence.
Join us for another exciting class hosted by outdoor educator and wilderness guide Chris Hyde as we explore the most basic of wilderness hazards and dangers that you could face when traveling in the backcountry. Like Bears!
Free drink token and Lumber Society Bears & Outdoor Hazards badge with each paid admission! Arrive early! Bring pen and pad to take notes. Questions: email mark@buzzmillcoffee.com.
